A DATE WITH LADY LIBERTY: TOP 5 MOMENTS IN NYC #2
So going back to seeing Lady Liberty, yes, I actually saw her and got to overuse the Statue of Liberty emoji in all my captions for posts that day! Haha It was such a magical turnout though because we woke up to grey skies and rain clouds that day. It honestly made me a little disappointed, so I lowered my expectations of seeing New York’s most iconic landmark. But being me, I still remained hopeful and earnestly prayed to God that the day would transition into a sunny one!
It was raining so hard that we couldn’t get out of the hotel since we didn’t bring umbrellas. We just opted to have lunch at the Hotel restaurant instead while waiting for the rain to die down. After lunch, the showers actually turned into light drizzles and so we immediately took the chance to ride the car and proceed to get tickets for the last boat to Liberty Island that would leave at 3pm.
We made it just in time to park, get tickets and go aboard the boat, all without the long lines since it did seem to be a gloomy day. As we got to ride Liberty Cruises, I immediately felt butterflies in my stomach! We made it in time! And the sun showed up, making the next few hours pretty hot actually! We were all so thrilled!
Seeing Lady Liberty with your naked eyes is really something. “I’m actually here in New York!” was on repeat in my head! I expected the statue to be a bit bigger though, but even that can’t take the magic out of the moment.
CAN YOU GUESS WHICH MOMENT IN NYC MADE IT TO MY TOP 1?
